KAMPOT
Kampot has become in recent years the epicenter of black pepper production in Cambodia. Called the “black gold”, it has reactivated the local economy and received international recognition for its quality, being cataloged as a Protected Geographical Indication by the European Union (EU). In 2013 Nathalie Chaboche and Guy Porre created La Plantation, 20 hectares with more than 20,000 pepper sticks that is cultivated with the traditional Cambodian method.
